Finally

The 7th month officially ends after today. The floodgates of weddings start tomorrow and I’m kind of worried whether I’ll survive the next 4 months well. The 7th month was supposed to be a month of rest and reflection – to recharge for the next couple of months that’s typically a peak season for wedding photographers. In that department, I guess I’m a little suboptimal. I don’t think I managed to get much rest, much less reflect. That’s probably what being a professional is about – to pick yourself up and continue despite the odds. So wish me luck – I shoot more or less non-stop for the next 2 weeks :)

Oh, I woke up this morning to see that the WPJA results for the 2nd quarter are out. I managed an eighth placing for this image from Tommie and Joanne’s shoot (thanks guys!)! Ok, no big deal. I guess the image was at the right place at the right time. Still, this tiny  reward is huge motivation to try to do even better!

I was more thinking “butterfly” when I shot – but angelic works too, really :)

Mark and Lynn

The weather has been driving me nuts the past week. I’ve had to postpone quite a few shoots because of the erratic weather. Fortunately, I managed to go ahead with Mark and Lynn’s shoot. We may not have had fantastic light but at least it didn’t pour and I definitely had a great time! It’s sometimes difficult to come across enthusiastic couples. Mark and Lynn were definitely such a pair. They had no problems getting into tough locations, getting their gowns dirty et all to get the shots. Thumbs up guys!

I don’t do studio shots, but doesn’t mean I don’t know how to ;)

Peter and Lynn

I did an anniversary shoot for Peter and Lynn some time back. Peter’s a fantastic and easy going chap (I should really use “bloke” since he is English – Irish actually - afterall heh!) and Lynn is equally full of smiles and laughter. They make a great couple and this is evident even in their 1st anniversary shoot.
