I don’t often cover Malay weddings so it’s always a treat for me when I do – the colours, the people and most of all, the open-ness and warmth with which I’m always accorded when covering Malay wedding days. It was no different, perhaps even more so, for Zaid and Shikin’s wedding day. I had such a good time, and even better food (haha) that Shikin’s dad insisted I have! I also had a great time catching up with all the past couples that I’ve shot for before – Ben and Cheryl, Joe and Cheryl. It was also a bitter-sweet wedding for me though. You see, Zaid’s mom has late-stage cancer that required her to go in and out of the hospital. I could sense the pain but also the joy in both mom and son that this ceremony managed to take place. I really hope and pray that she recovers. Anyway, here are some images from the day’s highlights. More on facebook!
