You see, that has been Kelvin’s nickname ever since his rugby playing days. After having shot Kelvin and Angela’s bridals a while back, I was quite comfortable with this really cool and whacky couple. So I figured – with a name like “Polar” – I was going to be in for a fantastic time on their wedding day ;) . I was not wrong. It was a tiring but extremely fun day. To top it off, I got to see a video of Kelvin’s proposal to Angela. Was I surprised that an unassuming person like Kelvin aka Polar could come up with such a romantic proposal that included bumboats, horns and a big diamond ring :) . Kelvin and Yan Lin reminded me a lot of Kevin and Cynthia. Easy-going, fun-loving and always willing to try new things. They also treated me and the makeup artist so very well – the best of food, offering to drive everywhere and even sending and picking us up from the airport. Thank you very much guys – you totally deserve a good break after exhausting yourselves for the shoot. It may not have been the best of weather but you braved it all throughout. It’s been an honour and privilege for me to have been behind the camera. Here are some images from their shoot. As a break from my norm, I’ve posted 50 images from their shoot on facebook..that’s how much fun we had!

It’s been a hectic July and I’m glad – in a weird sort of way – that it’s coming to an end. Of course, I’m faced with an equally brutal schedule in August, but there’s always the Ghost Month to look forward to :) . For anyone who’s remotely waiting for wedding day images to be posted on this blog, I promise that they’ll be done soon!

Anyway, back to Kelvin and Angela’s bridals. The story goes that I wasn’t actually available to shoot Kelvin and Angela’s wedding day or bridals as I was originally booked on their wedding day. But by a stroke of luck and timing, I didn’t have to shoot a wedding in Jakarta and could pick up Kelvin and Angela’s “job”.

Our bridals actually started on a pretty good note earlier in the day – good light, extremely nice and sporting couple but the weather kind of turned on us. I still had the extremely nice and sporting Kelvin and Angela – but the sun decided to go into hiding. Oh well, at least it didn’t rain. In hindsight, it could’ve been worse because I could’ve been shooting the next day – during the partial eclipse + heavy rain! Sometimes, it’s good to be thankful for what you have ;)

It’s been an absolutely tiring but extremely satisfying year. I guess I’ll leave all that when I ACTUALLY finish all the weddings for the year :) !

Kelvin and Selena met me a while back (maybe more than a year ago I think…) and the first impression I had was that Kelvin is fairly soft spoken – and the gentlemanly, whilst I wasn’t really able to read Selena’s character because she spoke very little when we met. So I was caught a little by surprise how outspoken, candid and fun Selena was on her wedding day. To top it off, she looked absolutely stunning in her Tan Yoong gown! All in all, it was a great day out with yet another wonderful couple, and with beautiful weather for company in an otherwise rainy week.
